Jessica Stroup was born in Anderson, South Carolina. She spent her childhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. A friend’s mother was a former Miss North Carolina and encouraged Jessica to pursue modeling. She has an older brother, David Stroup. She graduated from Providence High School in 2004. At age 17 Stroup was offered a scholarship to attend the University of Georgia, but turned it down in order to pursue an acting career. She then moved to Los Angeles, California, where she currently resides.
